What the Korg M3 really is is a really logically laid out piece of equipment which is a lot more than just a piano/organ type of keyboard, although it will do each of those jobs quite well, due to the EDS (Enhanced Definition Synthesis) sound engine which gives its technology with Korg’s flagship OASYS keyboards. The semi-weighted 61 note keyboard with expressive after-touch made playing a piece of cake. There is an exceptional number of great sounding pianos, organs, and many other instruments accessible in the 1,024 EDS program slots that happens to be now available in this new and upgraded keyboard.
Exactly where the M3 definitely reveals itself is in the added features it gives you, such as Open System Sampling, an incredibly well featured sequencer, a Drum Track function that also allows for live playing using the eight pads under the color touch-screen, and the special settings that the M3 is able to work in, such as KARMA, which allows for real-time music generation with very controllable levels of feel. The Touch-Screen mode is effectively a KAOSS-style interface allowing a stage of parameter control with visual feedback which can be very intuitive and useful.
This is just some of the many features that the Korg M3 has to offer and this review isnt even close to telling everything this keyboard can do.
