The sounds with this keyboard are generally quite wonderful lots of instruments are outstanding. If you play jazz, latin, traditional styles, you will unlikey distinguish the sounds from that of real instruments. Some synth sounds are also very good. On the other hand, it’s not a keyboard for electronic music production (in my opinion). Actually, you have got only several different pads (other sound like slight variations), a large number of bass sounds (including incredibly peculiar ones), and several really decent leads. Orchestral strings are quite exceptional. Not fully authentic in any keyboard range, yet they sound very rich and extraordinary. Orchestra tutti is a great multilayered sample with timpani and crash cymbals heard at high velocities. Nylon guitars sound very realistic. Guitar strums come in 2 top octaves and they’re traditionally used in styles. There are a number of drum kits, many of them have multi-layered snares and toms. Also there are some good ethnic sounds, like koto, shamisen, bag-pipes, etc. A collection of accordion and harmonica sounds have some very realistic ones (including authentic accordion bass). There is a wide array of electric pianos in this keyboard. Tine piano RX is a high quality rhodes-like piano. Grand piano preset is nice, but soft. There is no “fortissimo” layer, therefore you won’t have the extremely bright piano chords. Some instruments sound very plain, like harp and soprano saxophone. You might need to replace these with custom sample-based sounds. Also, be sure to install the latest OS and media library, it seems that many instruments have become better in version 1.60.
